UTO and ETA Procedures

İTBAK A.Ş. UTO and ETA Procedures

UTO Procedure

UTO (National Technical Approval) Certificate The UTO certificate ensures that the products have the “G” mark in order to prevent the circulation of poor quality and non-standard products in the market, to ensure market discipline and to prevent unfair competition. Making these markings mandatory also requires the receipt of the UTO certificate. The document can be edited if the product you have developed does not have a standard or deviates from the standard. The prominent aspect that you want to keep at the forefront of the product is taken into consideration if you inform us about the product recipe, the purpose of use. If there is a standard covered by your product, the relevant experiments are being investigated. If there are any experiments that you have made, they are taken into consideration by the Technical Board. The result of the evaluation is accepted or the experiment is performed again if necessary. If the reports confirm the declared values, the UTO certificate is issued. The certification period may vary depending on the duration of the experiments. As you can see on the link https://www.itbak.org/teknik-onaylar.html , the UTO documents are being published.

ETA Procedure

ETA (European Technical Assessment) Certificate The ETA certificate ensures that the products have the “CE” mark in order to prevent the circulation of poor quality and non-standard products on the market, to ensure market discipline and to prevent unfair competition. The European Technical Assessment (ETA) is a technical document that evaluates the performance of a construction material based on the main characteristics of that product. This definition is defined in the document of the Building Products Regulation (EU/305/2011), which entered into force on July 1, 2013 in all European Union member states and members of the European Economic Area. The ETA Certificate is awarded in whole or in part to products that are not covered by harmonized technical standards, such as European Assessment Documents (EADs) or European Standards (hENs). The process is accelerated if there is ETAG, EAD, QUAP, except that it changes according to the applied product and the experiments to be performed. The consultation should be prepared and submitted to EOTA for comment for 1 month. If there is an EAD that needs to be prepared for the product, it means that it is being prepared. If no negative comments are made during this 1-month period, the ETA (European Technical Assessment) certification process is initiated. The ETA certificate is completed in about 6 months.
