İTBAK A.Ş

History

Building Research Association (YAD)-Construction Research Association (YAD), to which the Economic Enterprise of the Construction Technical Evaluation and Scientific Research Institution (ITBAK) is affiliated; it was established on 02.08.2007 with the log number 06/086/079 with the participation of the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization of the Republic of Türkiye (former Ministry of Public Works and Settlement of the Republic of Türkiye), Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), Middle East Technical University (METU), Association of Construction Materials Industrialists (IMSAD), Association of Union of Building Inspection Organizations (YDK). At the 1st General Assembly meeting held on 06.12.2007, the operating bodies were established and an economic enterprise was established and it was decided to organize it to give the European Technical Assessment, formerly the European Technical Approval (which will be included as the European Technical Assessment in the continuation of the Quality Manual). The Economic Enterprise of the Construction Technical and Scientific Research Board was registered on 22.04.2008 with the Registration Number 252592 and was established by publishing in the Trade Registry Gazette on 28.04.2008 by the decision of the YAD Board of Directors. Later, by the Decision of the Board of Directors, the title of the Economic Enterprise of the Construction Technical and Scientific Research Board was changed to the Construction Technical Evaluation and Scientific Research Institution (ITBAK) and published in the Trade Registry Gazette Dated 13.01.2014 and numbered 8484.

With the decision taken by the Board of Directors of the Construction Research Association, it has been decided to transfer the activities of the economic enterprise to the new joint stock company to be established. ITBAK A.Ş. was registered on 07.01.2019 and was established on 10.01.2019 by publishing in the Turkish Trade Registry Gazette No. 9742 with the registration number 429112. Again, with the decision taken by the YAD management, all the activities of the Economic Enterprise were transferred to the newly established ITBAK Joint Stock Company.
All shares of ITBAK A.Ş. have been transferred to TSE-International Conformity Assessment Service Inc. as of 21.05.2019. ITBAK A.Ş. continues its efforts to achieve its goals with new opportunities and resources for TECHNICAL APPROVAL activities with the knowledge and experiences it has gained from the past.

Our Mission

In order to prevent the circulation of poor quality and non-standard products on the market, to ensure market discipline and to prevent unfair competition, to issue European Technical Assessment (ETA) documents with National Technical Approval (UTO), to contribute to the dissemination of the use of such documents for innovative products and to increase research and development (R&D) activities in manufacturers, to create innovative products and educational documentation and standards supported by AEGE for manufacturers, to inform manufacturers about all kinds of legislation, to take initiatives before the relevant authorities regarding the solution of the problems faced by the sector, to contribute to the formation of relevant standards and criteria.

Our Vision

To become the greatest supporter of innovative products and research and development activities in the construction sector with the technical approvals provided to manufacturers in the sector to date, it aims to maintain and serve "technical approval" activities at a high level with the most idealistic technical experts with scientific knowledge, impartial, independent and confidentiality values.

"To give “National Technical Approval” and “European Technical Assessment” in order to ensure that all parties involved in the construction production process have confidence in new products and applications; to conduct research and development activities related to structures according to technical assessments and evaluations and to establish a quality infrastructure in the construction sector."

Our Technical Evaluation Board members are authorized to perform risk analysis, set technical criteria, establish evaluation methods, and define factory production control processes within their specific material areas as part of UTO and ETA activities. They are responsible for these tasks and have the authority to make decisions.
